Please read carefully. We are currently accepting reservations for puppies from the litter of Candy and Brody. With that being said we work directly from a waiting list. Priority is given to people who have been waiting the longest. We do have other breedings that are taking place this Spring 2021. If we have large litters there may be something available sooner. If something is available sooner you will be notified. You are not required to take a puppy from an earlier litter and you are not required to take any puppy that is not to your liking. If you are offered puppies from a litter and you do not like the available puppies you can pass and you will not lose your place on the waiting list you will just move to the next litter. I do my best to guesstimate which breeding your deposit will line up with base on average litter size. If you are wanting a puppy out of a particular litter it is important that you get your deposit in as soon as you can. The number of puppies per litter and the sexes are out of our control. We can have anywhere from 2-15 puppies per litter. There can be 9 males and 1 female or 9 females and 1 male or maybe it is 50/50 but this is up to our friend mother nature :) We have a nice following of people who are waiting for puppies from us so usually there is about a 4-6 month wait before you will receive you new family member. Thank you for reading! Please let me know if you have any questions!
Everyone always has lots of questions so I will try to answer some of the basic initial questions and then you can offer some feedback
1.) Costs: puppies are $2500 that is the puppy which will come with its first set of vaccinations, microchip, AKC registration, 30 days free pet health insurance in applicable locations, veterinary health certificate, and spay/neuter contract. All of our dogs are from top winning show quality pedigree and the parents are fully health tested free of hips dyplasia, Ataxia, and Cardiac defects. A deposit to reserve a puppy is $300 so the balance for the Puppy itself would be $2200. A deposit is required to reserve a current or future puppy and deposits are not refundable but are always transferable. We require a deposit to reserve a puppy simply because we put you in line for puppies and that may mean that we are turning away other perspective homes so a deposit is a promissory agreement to purchase a puppy, those deposits can always be transferred to the next available litter if there is not something available for you from the first breeding or if there is not something from that breeding that you want or if the timing does not work for your family etc. Any additional costs associated with the puppy would be ear cropping, this is an optional service. Ears can be done by your preferred veterinarian if you have one as long as they have good experience with nice ear crops, or the procedure can be done by my vet. The cost of the procedure is $550 the procedure is typically done around eight weeks of age and the puppy can leave pretty soon thereafter. There will still be some after care that you will have to do at home to make sure that the ears stand correctly this can include tapings for as little as a week or as long as a month it just depends on the dog. Ears do take some commitment on your part initially, make sure you do a little bit of research when deciding if that is something you want done. The only other additional cost would be for shipping the puppy, so if you are out of state and do not wish to drive to pick your puppy up shipping can be arranged. I have shipped lots of puppies over the years and the puppies do really well and often times it is easier on them then a long drive if you live pretty far away. The cost of shipping averages $650-$750 and that includes the airfare and the travel crate or flight nanny service. This should cover the basic costs associated with a new puppy.
Generally I prefer for the puppies to be picked up if at all possible. Many homes choose to get a cheap round trip airline ticket, they fly into Jacksonville International I meet them there with the puppy and they fly right back out with the puppy as carry on the same day. The cost is usually the same if not less than shipping the puppy separate it requires one off day for you and I think easier on everyone including the puppy but I understand not everyone can fly. If the puppy gets cropped here it must be picked up in person or flown with a flight nanny as I cannot ship a puppy alone with stitches.
2.) The picking process: Puppies are selected in the order deposits are received based on the companion waiting list. I usually pick my puppy somewhere between six and eight weeks of age after they have begun to develop personalities and I can watch them walk around and I can evaluate structure. I do take pictures of the puppies frequently and post them to the website or send them out to the individuals waiting for puppies and then as the puppies grow I can evaluate temperaments and work closely with the families trying to match the right puppies with the right families, obviously I will try very hard to match you with the desired gender and color but I cannot always promise... so you have to be somewhat flexible or understand that if that specific gender or color is not available you may have to wait a little bit longer. I do of course try to prioritize people who have been waiting the longest. The ultimate goal is to get the right puppy with the right family. This picking process usually occurs around the same time that I am picking my own puppy which is around 6 to 8 weeks of age so I strongly tell people not to get attached to specific puppies based on pictures and markings to be open-minded to all puppies in the litter.
3.) Basic details: puppies are available to leave to their new homes at eight weeks of age if they are not being cropped. As mentioned above if they are being cropped they can leave a couple days later. All puppies are sold on limited registration unless we have discussed otherwise for show and or breeding prospects. Breeding/show prospects are only sold on a contract that outlines expectations for Health testing, training, competition, age etc. if you are contemplating showing and breeding we always encourage newcomers to the sport and would love to mentor you along the way however if this would be your first show dog the puppy would be on a co ownership until the terms of the breeding agreement are met in full . I will not sell a puppy for breeding with full registration without a contract. This is to protect the integrity of my lineage, the health of the dogs and the probable future puppies. If you are interested in showing or breeding we can discuss that further.
I know this is a lot of information but I know people have lots of questions and you are looking to invest money in something that is going to be in your life for hopefully 15+ years I want to make sure that you have all of the opportunities to ask questions and that I cover as many of those questions as possible so that you feel like you are an integral part of the process and that you are investing in something that will be ultimately your best friend for a really long time. I want to be your go to person for your dog, I will be available for questions and advice throughout the life of your dog if at any time during the life of your dog you cannot keep your dog I will take it back.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this. Please let me know in the comment box below if you have any questions or if you are interested in reserving a puppy and I will send you a copy of our contract to review.
Look forward to hearing from you!
